"OUR SPECIAL ANGEL" Dedicated to: Brittney Lynn VanDerRoest Oct. 23, 1988 – Mar. 14, 2009 When you came into our lives, On that beautiful October day, Tears of joy and happiness Came to each of us in every way. As a toddler, you were so happy and so smart. From crawling to walking, with falls and bumps, You were so cute and loving and pride filled my heart. So truly amazing and in my throat there were lumps. Singing was your thing, a gift from your Mother. At 15 months, the ‘ABC song’ was your choice, Once you heard a song, you’d remember like no other. And you began singing, with your angelic voice. When you started school and your name you had to spell, Even though it was unusual and big as any house. No problem for your Daddy, he taught you very well, You learned to spell it quickly to the tune of Mickey Mouse! In Elementary School, Grandparents Day was a big event. You invited me for lunch with you and to meet your friends. Each time I was pleased and so very glad I went, It left me with special memories 'til my days come to an end. In Middle School, a cheerleader you became. You would practice cheer after cheer, without any flaws. The Basketball team, you cheered, win or lose, at every game. You did cheers for me, knowing there would be applause. High School brought new challenges for learning, Yet time for fun and new friends were plentiful. Lots of homework and the midnight oils burning, Of course the dates and proms - oh you were so beautiful! After graduation, you moved in with your Dad. At times, you did not get along and you butted heads. You two were so much alike, but he was glad, You both learned to get along, and became friends instead. Then that fateful night in March this year, God called you from His Heavenly home in the sky. We got the news no family ever wants to hear, You were gone – no more hugs, kisses or even knowing why! Loving you forever, Grandma Written by: Kay VanDerRoest October 27, 2009 “OUR SPECIAL ANGEL” Dedicated to: Brittney Lynn VanDerRoest Oct. 23, 1988 – Mar. 14, 2009 When you came into our lives, On that beautiful October day, Tears of joy and happiness Came to each of us in every way.
