As many of you know, a tragic accident took the life of a beautiful, talented, sweet, caring, hilarious, and wonderful friend, Brittney VanDerRoest. She was 20 yrs young. She had her whole life ahead of her. I met Brit my sophomore year in Vocal Music. We started hanging out and soon we were inseparable. She and I had some really great times together. She went through a lot of rough times with me and was always there to comfort me. I knew I could count on her to have my back when I needed her. We would sit and talk on the phone for hours each night even thought we had seen each other all day at school (LOL). God, I’m gonna miss her. After graduation, we kind of drifted apart. I would talk to her every now and then but not all the time. She came to the hospital when I had Kenzie. She was always so thoughtful and could brighten my day! We had so many great memories together... I don’t know why God takes the lives of young people sometimes...I guess that’s how cruel life can be...I love Brittney and i will always keep her in my heart. Its just so tragic....things happen when you least expect them. So what I’m trying to say is keep your friends so close! Because you never know when its their turn to go! If i could go back, i would have still been really close with Brittney. I'm going to miss her so much along with everyone else’s life that she was in. One day we will all be together again where we can hear Brittney’s beautiful voice singing like she always was and with that beautiful smile she carried with her. RIP baby girl. You will never be forgotten, Lauren Cupples
